What happened to version 1.6!?
Okay, so I was working on a version 1.6 for WebColor. I started getting letters from people who had downloaded version 1.5 or beta tested version 1.6. With their great new ideas and mine, I began constructing this wonderful new version. I made so many enhancements that I could no longer call it version 1.6. The final release is 2.0
The most recognizable difference is the appearance. I've tried to put a 3D twist to WebColor, but I'm not sure if I've done it right. Whether or not to use this new look is still under debate. If you've owned previous versions of WebColor, please tell me which style you prefer.
WebColor's hexadecimal conversion accuracy was slightly off in previous versions. The accuracy is now exact.
Another major change with the way WebColor works is that one color option is always selected for use. With this, any color from the screen or the Pickup window can be picked up and dropped automatically onto the currently selected color.
The Preview window is more functional in version 1.6 of WebColor. There is no string for "This is an active link." Now, you can get the real user experience by clicking on the "This is a link." text or the "This is a visited link." text and watching the color change. The text style of the Preview window can be toggled from Plain to Bold also.
The Pickup window lets you pick up any color from the window and it will be automatically placed into the currently chosen color option. The Pickup window defaults to a continuous RGB color display, but you paste a picture in from the clipboard to pickup colors from. To clear the picture from the Pickup window and return to the default RGB display, choose "Clear" from the "Edit" menu. (Or use the Delete or Clear key on you keyboard.)
Color brightness can now be adjusted easily using the scroll bar inside the Get Info box. Window position is now remembered and there's a hidden Easter Egg involving the Option key. See if you can find it!
